Presentation of the ACCITH research group

The aim of the CNRS research  entity "Antibodies and Therapeutic Targeting” (GDR 3260 - ACCITH),  comprising 90 participating teams in France, is  to bring together  scientists from the public and private  sectors working on the use of antibodies in human therapy.


Antibodies have  considerable therapeutic potential, as recently demonstrated with anti-TNF (e.g. Remicade©) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis  and anti-tumor antigens (e.g. Herceptin© ) in the treatment of breast cancer.  Industry is represented by over 25 teams ranging from large pharmaceutical firms, members of the LEEM organization, to small start-up companies.

The GDR 3260 organizes meetings of scientists in basic and in applied research, and of physicians, to facilitate the application of translational research to the clinic.

Welcome to the 2011 ACCITH Forum

The GDR holds annual scientific meetings for its members, and welcomes the participation of members of the scientific community. This year, the CNRS research unit « Immunology and therapeutic chemistry » (UPR 9021), the joint CNRS - University unit « Biotechnology and cell signalling » (UMR 7242) and Transgene S.A., all GDR-member teams located in Alsace, organize the 2011 ACCITH Forum which will take place on September 19-21, 2011 at the Innovation Center (Pôle API) in Illkirch, near Strasbourg.

The conference will focus on the selection, engineering, preclinical assessment and bioproduction of antibodies used for human therapeutics,  and will bring together scientists from the German, Swiss and French Upper Rhine valley area.

Participation in this forum requires no registration fee.

Scientific program

Monday September 19 [2:00 - 7:00 pm]
GDR meeting, restricted to GDR members (Discussions will take place in French)

Tuesday September 20 [8:30 am - 7:30 pm] and Wedneday September 21 [8:30 - 12:45 am] International meeting open to the public (Presentations will be in English, participants are required to register)

 Sessions will be devoted to:

• Antibody selection
• Antibody engineering and preclinical assessment
• Bioproduction

Financial assistance to young researchers

The Organizing Committee plans to fund a number of travel grants to facilitate the participation of young researchers at the Forum ACCITH 2011. More information in the section Useful information > Travel grants.
